Adekunle Gold Affirms Evolution With Album Lead Single ‘AG Baby’

It’s been two years since Adekunle Gold shared his stunning sophomore album, About 30 with a sixteen-track project that marked proper graduation to the mainstream after his unique sound was introduced to the world on Gold. This month, as he continues down a path driven by a delectable single run, he forays deeper into his experiment-driven evolution with the first single titled AG Baby, off his third studio album, Afro Pop, Vol. 1.

Joined by Trinidadian Singer, Nailah Blackman, he reintroduces himself as a “street boy topping all the mainstream shit, sweet boy stunting like a matrix shit” over a bubbling Afrobeat and Jazz hybrid tinged with bits of the percussions signature to the Caribbean Soca genre.

The TMXO produced AG Baby affirms Adekunle Gold’s rebirth and by all indications of his swift and masterful handling of the colorful elements that make up the sprightly single, he’s more than ready to let the world into this sprawling new dimension.
