Afropolitan Vibes

Over the past four years, Freedom Park has been home to Afropolitan Vibes one of Lagos’ most consistent live shows alongside Femi Kuti’s weekly performances at the Afrika Shrine. June 16th however shall mark an upgrade for the show which holds was started by Ade Bantu and Abby Ogunsanya as they head to Muri Okunola Park in VI going forward.

Over the past four years, the show has hosted the likes of Adekunle Gold, Tomi Thomas, Victor Olaiya, Brymo, Bez and many other acts as they showcase artistry in unique fashion which many others bypass when delivering shows in Nigeria.

With the decision to move to Muri Okunola, the organisers of the show continue the trend of continuity which begun with December 2016’s choice to host the maiden edition of two day festival. In addition, the entry price which has fluctuated of recent shall return to N1000 while security and better parking shall also come as part of the package in of moving to a more central and bigger location. They are further afforded the opportunity to bring in more food vendors and now offer space for picnics which without doubt will improve the experience at the monthly show.

One of the compromises from moving to Muri Okunola which will almost definitely cost more is the choice to change the show from a monthly gig to one which occurs on the third Friday of every quarter.

The show which marks the upgrade shall be headlined by Mavin artist, Iyanya and also feature performances from Afro-soul singer Paul Play Dairo, rapper Mzkiss and French hip hop artist, Leeroy.
