Al Ghalib Draws Inspiration from W4’s Kontrol on ‘Ctrl’

Essentially, many of the songs we hear today tap inspiration from other records. On some occasions like Davido’s verse on MIND, we see lazy samples however, more often than not, it’s simply leveraging one line from a song and letting the creative juices flow as you put your spin on things. On Ctrl, the first single off his upcoming five-track debut project, Al Ghalib draws inspiration from W4’s Kontrol as he sings about capturing the interests of a love interest.

As a precursor to what we’ll see on his debut project, Ctrl is just right as it shows what Al Ghalib is about, blending Yoruba and English as he fuses afropop and rap.
