The membership registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded such positive turn out across  the 36 states, which has resulted in its extension till the 12th of February in order to accommodate followers still seeking to register.

In Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, tremendous turn out was witnessed as party faithful gathered to register. This caused an exhaustion of materials in the ward by the second day of registration. In other wards such as Shawo South East and Ojomu Central materials were also exhausted.

Political big wigs and APC leaders all over the country such as General Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Governors Babatunde Raji Fashola, Kayode Fayemi, Chuibike Rotimi Amaechi, Abdulfatai Ahmed, Murtala Nyako, Ibikunle Amosun and others have made sure they officially registered for the APC.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State urged people to join him and millions of other progressives to register for APC, describing the party as the fastest growing political party in Africa. He added that its mission is to rescue Nigeria from corruption and bad governance.

National APC Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu reacted to the defection of former governor of Sokoto state Attahiru Bafarawa and former governor of Kano State Ibrahim Shekarau. He said “My philosophy is freedom of movement. There are bound to be disagreements. They are allowed to remain or leave based on their acceptance of the philosophy of the party.”
