Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has said he won’t spend more than a single term as president if elected in 2019.

Atiku, who is jostling for the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential ticket, revealed to journalists over the weekend, where he talked about his plan to reposition the country to realise its utmost potentials.

Saying he will be preoccupied with creating jobs if he becomes president, Atiku pointed to his business background as strength he would bank on.

“My agenda is centred on jobs. That is what I have been doing for the past 40 years. I am first and foremost an entrepreneur. A job creator. My group of companies has a workforce of about 50,000,” he said.

Atiku also said the N-Power programme of the current government smacks of ‘poverty mindset’ and that ‘Nigerians do not need handout.’

He said,” Even this thing they are doing, called N-Power, is a product of their poverty mindset. Nigerians do not need handout. Nigerians need a leg up! Our people are not lazy. Quote me anywhere; Nigerians are the most intelligent people on God’s planet. The reason our people are living in poverty today is that our current leaders have a poverty mentality.”

He promised to restructure the country if he wins the presidential election in 2019 and appeal to the nationalism sense of the legislators in achieving his plans.
