Blaqbonez stakes his claim for the throne on ‘Best Rapper In Africa’

From joint projects to EDM blends and other pop culture elements, Nigerian artists are beginning to become well-grounded in aping foreign trends. With its lack of upper-crust rap talents, the industry was previously disabled to produce elite diss tracks and breed rap ‘beefs’ but recently rappers like Blaqbonez, Fresh L, A-Q and Paper Corleone have ridden this wave. Hot on the heels of his brewing ‘beef’ with certain rappers in the industry, Blaqbonez takes the lead by releasing the punchline rife, ‘Best Rapper In Africa’

Aptly named, Blaqbonez rushes into the synthesized bass-heavy track with a quick jab thrown at his contemporaries who he claims are not his equals. He then follows his rhymes with brittle bars that exert more energy than the track’s underlying instrumentals.

Blaqbonez has been making rounds in the industry of late and with Best Rapper In Africa, he sets the pace for what might become a memorable era in Nigeria’s hip-hop history.
