In the past week Boko Haram have faced large battles against the Joint Military Task Force which comprises of forces from Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon.

This has not stopped  them from attacking as they normally would and this time their latest attack has been on Cameroonian town of Fotokol which lies just over 500 metres from the Nigerian border.

The miliitants who attacked people in their homes as well as the town’s mosque set fire to buildings only one day after being driven from Gamboru in Nigeria.

Residents of Fotokol claim the militants had killed many people by slitting their throats.

“Boko Haram inflicted so much damage here this morning,” Umar Babakalli, a resident of Fotokol, told the agency by telephone. “They have killed dozens of people.”

On Tuesday, the Chadian army said it had killed more than 200 militants in the battle to recapture Gamboru. However, it added that some of the militants had escaped its offensive.
