The name Divine Oduduru for many may draw to mind the 2014/2015 meme I never experrerit popular across the Nigerian cyberspace and a fave amongst the ranks of Nigerian internet comedians. In that time, Oduduru has consistently been on a journey towards realising his dreams of competing in the Olympics and at the same time, transcending the phrase largely associated with his name.
Finishing with a record time of 9.94 seconds in the 100 metre event at the Michael Johnson Invitational 2019, the 22 year-old Divine Oduduru has become the fastest man in 2019. Also finishing the 200 metres in 19.76 seconds beating his previous time of 20.08, the young athlete is on the verge of etching his name with the greats a lot sooner than he ever expected.
