"I went with my friend for a fashion shoot for a new clothing line. It was the first fashion shoot I had ever been to. We got there when the models were getting their make up done and I noticed how the make up artist was paying so much attention to detail. It reminded me of myself when painting. Make up is an art. As an artist making an oil painting I prime the canvas (foundation and concealer) then I mix my colors on a palette (eye shadows and blushers ). I pay particular attention to my use of light, tones and shades because that's what brings the painting to life (contouring and highlighting ). If I were doing a pencil drawing or charcoal I'll usually spray some fixative to make it durable so it doesn't run or get muddy which the make up artist also did when she was done with finishing spray. While editing this picture, you'll notice there is great detail. You can almost see each strand of hair on the model's hair and the make up artist's fur coat. I've also emphasized quite a bit on highlights. This allows you to almost feel like you are there. It was a totally spontaneous picture."

"I went on a boat cruise in Hong Kong and I thought it will be a great fit for my 'People at Work' collection and I liked the juxtaposition of old, rusty fishing boats and the cosmopolitan city just right behind it "

The theme of this section is to get an artist to pick five of their most highly rated pieces of art and explain their choices.
