Gospel Artist Tye Tribbett gives rendition of Nigerian praise songs on his new album

New Jersey-based gospel singer, songwriter, choir director, multi-instrumentalist, and multi-award winner, Tye Tribbett in 2010 released his first album titled Fresh. Fast-forward 7 years later and his third official project The Bloody Win has just been released and boy is it spiritual. The 12 track album touches on just about anything, from giving thanks to prophesying words of faith, and also an African Medley.

The Medley starts off in a startling high-tempo beat with Tye clamouring the chorus of a popular Nigerian ‘praise’ song before beckoning on “Uche” to take it from there. Listen closely, and you will hear a few pleasurable tweaks Tye adds to the already enjoyable song we know and love. Believe it or not, but he even adds the signature “luwe luwe luwe” intermission chants.

The 9-minute-long song features 4 of the vey best praise songs popular this side of the world. Tye finds a way to combine all songs in a smooth rendition that (I believe) will open Tye to an ever more diverse fan base. This medley could very well be inspired by his frequent visits to Nigeria and his constant communion at the House on The Rock.

The entire project ministers life. Listen here.
