Government will deal with anyone who politicizes security issues – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians against politicizing security issues as he vowed that measures are being taken to check persons who are caught in such acts.

The President made this call while reacting to the release of the Government Science and Technical School, Dapchi, Yobe State who had been abducted by the Boko Haram terrorist group on February 19, 2018.

President Buhari said, “Government would not tolerate any attempt by any person or group to trivialise or politicise security issues for politically motivated ends,”

“Accordingly, security agencies would not hesitate to decisively deal with such unscrupulous characters. Let me reemphasize our administration’s commitment to the fight against terrorism and insurgency, and also call on all Nigerians to join in this task.”

He further enjoined Nigerians to desist from attempt at making political fortunes from the misfortune of others.

The president also revealed that he had since directed the security agencies to put in place adequate measures in order to safeguard schools vulnerable to attacks so as to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school workers.
