INEC embarks on probe of 202 officials over N23bn bribe

202 of The Independent National Electoral Commission’s officials are currently being  probed as they are suspected to have benefited from a N23 billion bribe offered during the 2015 general elections according to INEC National Commissioner, May Agbamuche-Mbu, who revealed this information during a press conference in Abuja, yesterday.

According to her, the 202 INEC staff from 14 states were indicted by a report of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for benefiting from the alleged N23 billion bribe in 2015 and are currently facing an internal administrative panel that shall determine their fate next week.
