Joseph Yobo to join Kano Pillars

Three months after playing in his testimonial game, former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, is set to sign for Kano Pillars and see out the remaining Nigeria Professional Football League season playing for them.

Yobo signed an ambassadorial deal with the League Management Company (LMC) who are the organisers of the NPFL. As such, he is eligible to play for any interested club in the last 12 games of the season.

The Elite Players Scheme which Yobo joins the League on assigns players of international repute to Nigerian club sides in a bid to further improve the quality of the league.

Ifeanyi Ubah FC looked set to capture the defender’s signature, however, Kano Pillars have won the race.

Joseph Yobo could make his debut for the club when they host Sunshine Stars of Akure at their Sani Abacha Stadium.
