LVMH goes after Apple Watch

To most observers, the Apple watch has been a flop. That hasn’t seemed to detract the folks at LVMH who area apparently looking at placing on the market a more expensive alternative to Apple’s offering.

The watch will cost over £1,000.

LVMH’s Watch Division President, Jean-Claude Biver said to the German paper, Handelsblatt that he “welcomed the arrival of the Apple Watch because the marketing power of the Apple brand will help create a new class of clients enthusiastic about luxury watches” .

It is expected part of the strategy will include removing Tag Heuer’s price category of €6,500 and will focus on watches to compete with the Apple price point of  €1,500.
