Maka Is On A Mission To Intimately Give Lagos Her Dose of Soul and Jazz

One of the best things that has come with more indie artists has been the departure from the norm. The desire to sell out concerts that is all too familiar with pop acts is one many indie artists don’t appear to subscribe to. The desire for intimate experiences for fans explains why an act like Lady Donli decided to embark on a living room tour earlier in the year. In the same vein but less publicised is Maka who has entertained small gatherings at the American, Canadian, French and Italian consulates in Lagos this year.

Going forward, Maka shall now engage with her fans through a bi-monthly series of shows tagged Maka: After Dark alongside her band, One Band Like That, who have supported her at shows like Gidifest this year and while opening for acts like MiCasa and Bez.

The debut edition of Maka: After Dark which shall be hosted by Tosan Mac, shall hold on the 29th of May at 16/16 in Victoria Island with Chocolate City’s Ruby Gyang and Eri Ife as supporting acts.

Difference is everything it’s about and as such, Tosan shall navigate the audience through her journey as Maka looks to share her sounds with longstanding fans and those sitting on the fence with an intimate experience that you probably want to experience.

Tickets for the show cost N3000 and are available here.
