Love Gets A New Meaning On Mr Eazi’s ‘One Day You Will Understand’

These days, Mr Eazi doubles as a music mogul and musician, a dual persona that contrary to public opinion is a symbiotic relationship between the not so far off responsibilities. Since he became a platform for African underdogs through his emPawa initiative, we’ve witnessed a lag in his release of music but today, he makes up for the trickles with a four-track EP titled One Day You Will Understand.

Heralded by the earlier released Pipey Afropop Hybrid, I No Go Give Up On You, the short and sweet project is a direct reference to Mr Eazi’s now refined Afropop sound, one that’s afforded him a wealth of opportunities including a seat at the table of Africa’s biggest pop stars which was marked last month by a Billboard cover.

Sticking to his espirit de corps mantra, Mr Eazi brings together a bright and bubbly team of longtime collaborators in features and production, highlighting the communal nature of emPawa, one that gives the EP its much anticipated experimental Afropop flavour.

Personal favourite, Baby, I’m Jealous, is a King Promise powered love ballad that’s the perfect introduction for the remaining sound and emotion exuberant tracks that culminate into what Apple Music describes as a “celebration of love and self empowerment.
