The Venomverse by marvel is a successor to 2014’s Spider-Verse. The Venomverse is designed to bring a multitude of Venom symbiote bonded characters from across the Marvel’s multiverse. Characters like Rocket Raccoon, Old Man Logan, Gwenpool, Black Panther and Deadpool to mention a few.
The Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics, commonly in association with Spider-Man. Venom made his first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (May 1988). Venom was originally conceived as a supervillain, but has since become more of an antihero. Venom is a Symbiote, a sentient alien, with a gooey, almost liquid-like form. As with real-world symbiotes, it requires a host, usually human, to bond with for its survival. After bonding, the Symbiote endows its enhanced powers upon the host. When the Venom Symbiote bonds with a human, that new dual-life form refers to itself as “Venom”.
A recently released Marvel Venomverse comic ‘Blessing in Disguise’ written by Nnedi Okorafor, a Nigerian Sci-fi writer is all you need to get through the week. The 8 page comic is set in Lagos, featuring a protagonist – Ngozi (named after Okorafor’s sister) along with other Marvel characters like black Panther, the Venom Symbiote and The Rhino. Ngozi much like Flash Thompson (a previously venomized character) is paralyzed but is bestowed with mobility upon possession by the symbiote. We see Ngozi instinctively bond with the symbiote and take the place of Black panther (who I think was killed rather easily).
