Reuben Abati, who served former President Goodluck Jonathan as Special Adviser on media and publicity, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

There are reports that the arrest of the ex-President’s aide is connected with a certain N50million he received from ex-NSA Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

According to a report by SaharaReporters, the arrest of the ex-media aide to immediate ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, was as a result of an investigation on The Guardian columnist by the EFCC.

The report further revealed that Abati was picked up in Abuja by men of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Abati’s lawyers and aides are yet to respond to the reported arrest while the EFCC is yet to give further details into the arrest.

Before Abati’s arrest, ex-Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode and ex-Senator and Minister, Musiliu Obanikoro have been arrested by the EFCC for their connection with funds collected from the ex-NSA, Sumbo Dasuki.

Abati becomes the third former aide of ex-President Jonathan currently in EFCC custody.
