Former Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia has been named on an eight-man shortlist for the vacant Rwanda coach post.

Former Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia has been named on an eight-man shortlist for the vacant Rwanda coach post.

Some others who have also made it to the interview stage are German Winfried Schafer who led Cameroon to the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations title, Portuguese Jose Rui Lopes Aguas, Belgian Paul Put who managed Burkina Faso in their impressive 2013 run, Belgian Georges Leekens, Swiss Raoul Savoy, Englishman Peter James Butler and German Antoine Hey.

As such Siasia is the only African coach on the list which was arrived at from 52 candidates after Rwanda sacked Northern Irishman Jonny McKinstry as her manager in August 2016.
