President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday assigned the portfolios to the four ministerial nominees, after swearing them in just before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council meeting.
Ibrahim Shekarau, the former governor of Kano state, has been sworn in as the new Minister of Education, Dr. Stephen Oru as the new Miniter of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Adedayo Adeyeye as Minister of State for Works and Dr. Abdul Bulama as Minister of Science and Technology.
The President also directed Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, Minister of Works to take over as Minister of State for Finance position, as well as continuing his supervision of the Ministry of National Planning until a substantive minister is named.
