Listen to YCee’s swaggy debut EP, The First Wave

YCee’s rise begun with Jagaban in June 2015. In a short while, Olamide had jumped on the remix and that track stood high up as the better tracks of the year. As expected, YCee emerged from the 2015 Headies as the Rookie of the Year. In 2016 he built on his breakout year and delivered tracks like Su Mi and Omo Alhaji Remix but for most of it, YCee was quietly working on his debut EP, The First Wave.

Two singles off the album were released in Link Up and Juice featuring Reekado Banks and Maleek Berry respectively and YCee also brings in Calibrii, Falz, Seyi Shay and KLY on his debut body of work.

Throughout the project, YCee flows in similar laid-back fashion to how he has delivered in the past. While YCee strays from making commercial music, the First Wave is a project that touches particularly on YCee’s relationships with the ladies as we see on Kill NobodyDon’t Need Bae and Need to Know and similar to most rap projects, on his team’s standing as we hear on BubblyWavy and N.O.U.N.
