Often, we sing praises about the power Davido wields in the industry but none of them match up to Mayorkun’s appraisal of him on The Best, one of the standout tracks of his recently released third album, A Better Time. Today, in the Dammy Twitch directed video for the springy song, Mayorkun physically manifests his adoration for Davido.
As with everything the DMW crew does, the video is a dramatic affair and this particular drama is a comic reflection of Robert Mark Kamen’s Karate Kid. Davido, just like he’s spoken about in the song, is a sensei that shows Mayorkun the ropes. In the serenity of Lagos outdoors, the dynamic duo takes us through their story, attempting to mirror the narrative to a T, even with the inclusion of a Wande Coal cameo.
