Since she won the Elite Model Look in 2014, Mayowa Nicholas’ modelling career has taken off in full speed and there’s no denying she’s one of Nigeria’s biggest fashion exports since Oluchi Orlandi and Agbani Darego.
At only 20 years old, Mayowa has already walked the runway for industry giants like Chanel, Christian Dior, Prada, Hermès, Elie Saab and Balmain; she recently landed her first ever Vogue cover and now, Mayowa will be joining an exclusive lineup of models confirmed to walk in one of fashion’s most anticipated shows of the year, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Although she was set to walk for the show last year, Mayowa was one of the four models couldn’t make it to the show due to problems with their Chinese Visa.
Following casting calls this week, the confirmed models to took to their social media platforms to share their excitement. Mayowa will be one of the few black models to walk this year’s runway with Duckie Thot, Sabah Koj, Isilda Moreira, Cheyenne Maya Carty, and Winnie Harlow amongst who have also taken to social media to celebrate getting “the call”.
The stars are definitely aligned for her and we couldn’t be more excited to see her kill it on the runway.
