The critically acclaimed MTN Made in Nigeria Poetry Show will be joining a host of festivities available to thrill seekers in Lagos this month. The show is a part of the MTN Foundation’s Arts and Culture collective for the fourth quarter of the year. Since its commencement in October 2016, the poetry show has enjoyed vast success showcasing in a number of major Nigerian cities such as Enugu, Ile-Ife, Abuja, Jos, Yola, Lagos and Maiduguri. The show will be making it’s return to the city of Lagos on the 14th of December at the Agip Hall MUSON Centre, Lagos.

Dike Chukwumerije, Founder of the show, states that “The stories our parents tell, of the clubs they danced in and the music they danced to, have far too many similarities, even when you grew up in Minna and I grew up in Lagos. So, we decided to write a poem about a Nigerian story, and in 120 minutes tell a story on stage that is indisputably made in Nigeria.” The Made in Nigeria show will tell the story of Nigeria’s advancements since the start of the last century following the colonial era, independence to present day. The MTN Foundation Arts and Culture collective has a number of previously produced audience favourites which include Our Son the Minister, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, Legends: The Musical, and Life in My City Art Festival in Enugu.
