Nigerian songstress Simi has commenced the year with her latest single, All I Want, providing a glimpse into her upcoming 5th studio album.
In this Afro-pop fusion anthem, Simi seamlessly blends Yoruba, pidgin, and English, staying true to her signature style. In the joyful, feel-good track, Simi expresses how true love-seekers desire to be genuinely and intentionally loved.
The track encompasses elements of praise, confession, a call to action, and a lover’s warning, as she communicates to her partner, “All I want is you / no dey take me play / you better show me that you love me just like I love you.” Simi once again demonstrates her unparalleled songwriting, incorporating wordplay into the lyrics: “Chemistry way pass chemical, no do me like Jidenna do Erica / Don’t carry Mile 2, drop me for Ketu.”
