President Muhammadu Buhari has indicated his administration’s willingness to pardon the members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram if they “accept the unconditional laying down of arms.”

The President made this known while officially declaring the release of the returned school girls in Dapchi in Yobe State on the 23rd March 2018.

The President in his words said, “while further efforts are being made to secure the release of every abducted citizen in Nigeria, Government is ever ready to accept the unconditional laying down of arms by any member of the Boko Haram group, who show strong commitment in that regard.”

Recall that the Boko Haram sect had abducted 107 schools in their school in Dapchi in Yobe State on the 17th of February this year; while the Federal government announced the release of the girls by the sect on the 21st of March 2018.
