It was announced sometime last week that Nigerian DJ and Syndicate Record’s official DJ, DJ Obi was embarking on an attempt to rewrite history by breaking the Guinness World Record for longest DJ set.

This morning at around 7:30 am, DJ Obi surpassed the standing record of 8 days and 8 hours.

Obi had been DJing at Sao Cafe in Lekki and the format was one where he had to DJ for a 12 hour set and then was allowed to take a one hour break in between to perhaps shower amongst other things.

Over the 8 day period many celebrities stopped by to support DJ Obi including the likes of DJ Spinall, Noble Igwe, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Boj and Bankulli.

Obi’s record is yet to be verified by Guinness World Records but shall be in due time.

Congratulations to the one of a kind DJ on this remarkable feat!
