Harmonize taps Burna Boy, Yemi Alade and Krizbeatz for his colorful ‘Afro Bongo’ EP

Harmonize found adulation last year with Kwa Ngwaru and since its release it’s been nothing but sunshine and rainbows for the Tanzanian Singer whose off-kilter but engaging style of singing reminiscent of his label leader; Diamond Platinumz’s style is what makes him special.

As a catalyst to the explosion of his brand, Harmonize’s Kwa Ngwaru didn’t do so well in preparing us for the full force with which his just released 4-track EP would contain. The project titled Afro Bongo is a climax of his surface work and a cummulation of all the influences that have featured heavily in his come-up particularly Afrobeats which seems to be the genre of choice with obvious assists from the forerunners in the Nigerian music industry including Yemi Alade, Burna Boy, Krizbeatz and Mr Eazi.

As expected, the array of Nigerian frontliners exploit their knowledge of Afrobeat to the full extent as they deliver crispy verses backed by a number of colorful instruments native to Harmonize’s Tanzania.

Burna Boy, Yemi Alade and Mr Eazi among others have become more than frontliners in the industry but pioneers of the ‘Africa to the world’ phenomenon and their consistent moves towards the globalization of our industry is as impressive as it is encouraging.
