Pettiness Prevails as Ibori Wins £1 From UK For Unlawful Detention

Some get upset when they are on the receiving end of pettiness. When on the giving end, a certain spark runs through your body when you’re serving the pettiness. Former Delta State Governor, James Ibori is on the receiving end of supreme pettiness from the UK who have awarded him £1 for being unlawfully detained in the UK for a period of 42 hours.

This came following Ibori’s release from jail last year which was scheduled for December 20th but saw an extension by immigration who detained the politician. Following his release, Ibori wasted no time in seeking legal action against the Home Secretary Amber Rudd for damages, false imprisonment and breach of his rights.

On Monday Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb ruled in favor of Ibori arguing that the Home Secretary had been “wrong throughout her dealings with Mr Ibori over the weeks leading to his release. She then awarded “nominal damages” of £1 instead of the £4000 the politician was seeking.
