In recent years, we’ve seen Nigerian music take flight on the world stage. While artists taking to stages in Nigeria is no new feat, many of those who have have done so ahead of their primes. Migos in 2016 and Big Sean in 2012 for example. With South African beer company, Castle Lite heading to town, we shall see Davido and Wizkid continue their bromance and be joined on stage by J Cole on the 27th of April at Eko Hotel.
While their debut public event shall be one they do not sell tickets for, its unlikely that will continue in the future. Castle Lite setting up shop in Nigeria will inevitably lead to us seeing more stars in their prime in Nigeria as their track record from South Africa should suggest. Putting acts like Kanye West, Drake, Migos, Travis Scott, J Cole, Future, Nas, Wiz Khalifa and Bryson Tiller on stage in SA alongside the country’s finest, As someone who has attended a Castle Lite event in South Africa, I can authoritatively say Castle Lite has set a high standard and will definitely bring that experience to Nigeria.
Even more important with their arrival though is the idea that they are unlikely to add their experiences which will initially almost exclusively be in Lagos to the madness that is Christmas.
