In the past 18 months, Mayorkun has taken the Nigerian afropop scene and alongside artists like Maleek Berry and Mr Eazi has become one of the artists placing themselves to be the leaders of the genre in a few years. In the recent weeks, he has hosted two concerts in Ibadan and Abuja following earlier UK and US tours. Today, he keeps the fans happy with the release of his second and third singles of the year, Posh and Fantasy.
Both records are poised to do damage on the charts. Posh taps many of the things Nigerians go crazy about in exorbitant shows of wealth and religion. Fantasy on the other hand centres around the idea of wanting his money and prioritising it above enjoyment while calling on his baby to come chop the dollars and have a great time alternating between Igbo, Yoruba and English in the process.
Posh is produced by Northboi and Fantasy by Kiddominant.
