Among other street trends that broke through social classes in 2019, Naira Marley’s signature dance moves including the initially hated Soapy dance become topics that inspired think pieces that have ruled the Nigerian social scene for some time now. Keying into this fame and welcoming ambiance, he decided to close off a controversial but successful year with one last move that has crossed over into the new year with us, the ‘Tesumole‘ dance. The track that inspired this dance move made it to his LOL (Lord Of Lamba) EP and last week got a befitting video.
Switching gears, Naira Marley teamed up with Somto for video direction and the change was quite evident as the video features elements foreign to Naira’s brand. Complete with energetic fully-clothed dancers who deliver premium Tesumole moves, the video sees Naira Marley in a saner climate than usual. It taps into the creative side he’s been said to possess and against colorful nocturnal backdrops, he spreads his revered dance gospel.
