The famously known Power Rangers are set to take a different approach with their new sporting- type suits. Entertainment Weekly, revealed an exclusive glimpse of the robot type suits they are set to debut in 2017.
Trini, Zack, Jason, Billy and Kimberly will adopt a intrinsic Iron Man aesthetic, parting ways with the outdated costumers they have worn for decades. The idea of this suit is to have “translucent extraterrestrial armor that crystallizes around their bodies.” This is certainly a change going forward in attempts to have a futuristic taste to the TV series. “The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis,” director Dean Israelite says. “These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit.”
The production designer, Andrew Menzies adds: “It’s tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume. Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that’s not man-made. You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans.”
The Power Rangers Reboot will debut across theaters on March 24, 2017.
