NewAgeMuzik Release “Serious” Video Inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road

Much different from their past work, North London-based Afrobeats duo, NewAgeMusik is back with a catchy song and a music video with great cinematographic detail.

NewAgeMuzik drop that is a lot different from what their fans are used to. From songs like Trending Topic, Da Beat and even their last release Brown Skin.

NewAgeMuzik’s Serious video was directed by Tshiz Nelson, who has worked with the likes of J Hus and Maleek Berry. The video intended to imbibe the gritty visual background and costume styling of Mad Max: Fury Road and ultimately enhances the song. Along with the death-toned filter of the video, yellow (and sometimes blue) colours were used dominantly for aesthetic effect. The video framing also reminded a bit of The Grand Budapest Hotel since its frame sizes ran beyond 16:9 and into 4:3 and the usual iPhone/Snapchat video size – which was darn right creative.

They really took on the theme of the song “serious” as popped to their usual flower boy look. The feel and detailing over all clicked as interesting, especially in comparison to common music videos.
