Over the past 10 years, the African Leadership Network has remained committed to creating the next generation of African leaders. Its initial venture, the African Leadership Academy has already developed a network of over 1000 young leaders from different walks of life across the continent. Throughout the Network’s existence, it has remained committed to creating the opportunity for the most deserving regardless of whether or not they can afford it and explains why ALA for example runs a financial aid system similar to that operated by American higher education institutions. As they continue on the road towards delivering a holistic experience designed to make students successful entrepreneurs, leaders and better citizens of the world, they connect with Nigerian musician Patoranking for a scholarship program.
The scholarship will cover 100% of tuition as well as accommodation and other study-related costs for the duration of the undergraduate program at the Rwanda and Mauritius campuses of the African Leadership University for 10 students. Interested participants can register to be kept up to date here.
While we often ask for more commentary from our artists on issues relevant to the masses, moves like these are also extremely important and it would be great to see more African artists use their platforms to afford fans and the next generation opportunities to gain world-class education. Hopefully, the Patoranking Scholarship Program at ALU is something that takes off and can remain a mainstay in the institution’s operation going forward.
