Ahead of its 2019 Edition, AMAA Requests Film Submissions that Engage the Narrative

The African Movie Academy Awards hosted by the African Film Academy, requests film submissions ahead of its 15th edition with the theme being Engaging the Narrative. Filmmakers are urged to submit feature fiction films, documentaries, as well as short films.

The award ceremony slated to hold between the 7th and 10th of June 2019 will celebrate the excellence of Africans/non-African who have made outstanding contributions to the African film industry. In a statement, the academy notes “We invite filmmakers who believe that the world should see the beauty of African stories to submit their films for the 15th Edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards. This year, for the first time, there will be a mini showcase of films that make it to the final shortlist, prior to the main awards ceremony”

To serve as a hallmark of the 15th anniversary of the award show, the academy will be making a trip down memory lane as the 15 best film directors and the 15 best films will also be highlighted.
