Chadwick Boseman, a world-renowned actor and now, departed legend and hero, passed away on Saturday, August 29 as reported by an early morning tweet by 3:29 AM (WAT). Boseman, whose origins include the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria as proven by a DNA Test has the following outstanding tributes to his credit; numerous appearances in films including the multiple award-winning Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and 21 Bridges. He had an outstanding career spanning a decade and 7 years from 2003 till a projected 2021. In the past four years leading to his recent demise, the late Boseman had been secretly battling colon cancer. In those four years, while he was having health struggles, he also achieved some of the most incredible feats in the international movie industry such as Marshall, Infinity War, Endgame, Da 5 Bloods, and the aforementioned Black Panther, 21 Bridges, and Civil War. Every single one of the films represented strong culturalism and promoted the values of a black man, echoing the voice and journey of today’s young, vibrant, African.  Now, the body of work in this last four-year period of his life serves as his final message, a final gift that the world has received with mixed feelings of awe and immense sadness. News of Boseman’s rather shocking end has caused quite a stir in the Nigerian entertainment industry, with heartfelt comments and tributes streaming in respect of a very exceptional man and his remarkable legacy.
