The one time we see almost everyone get behind Nigeria isn’t on Independence Day, which is often a time to reflect on all the things Nigeria has failed to achieve. It’s actually whenever the Eagles don the Green and White to represent the country that we often see everyone take pride in the nation. Our World Cup qualification has led to more pride in the nation and as many shots as possible at our Ghanaian counterparts who will not be representing the continent in Russia.
With gears switching towards the tournament, the NFF has begun scheduling friendlies and today revealed the jersey the national team shall embark on their Russian adventure in.
Brought to life by Nike, the team behind the jersey is however said to have been Nigerian. At the helm of the campaign was Skepta’s manager, Grace Ladoja who served as the Creative Director.
Revealed in London today with Alex Iwobi, Wizkid, Kelechi Iheneacho and Mikel Obi draped in pieces branded with ‘Naija’ and in Green and White, there’s more memorabilia than just jerseys. We are also introduced to the athlete journey pieces which we’ll likely see our players wear off the pitch.
