Since she was ten years old, Tosin Robeck has worked towards fulfilling her dream of becoming a world-class entertainer, one she’s paced with several singles, including standouts, Kolo, Babatunde, and Shape Of You among others. This year, she plans to take her career to the next level with a persona and evolution-defining EP, titled The Next Chapter, which she heralds with One.
The Next Chapter, is apparently symbolic of a new phase in Robeck’s journey as an artist, which is why on the Duggie produced, One, she veers off regular course by tapping into Afro-house’s rich bass and synth-pop foundation to support her mesmeric articulation of a self-written narrative centered around unrequited love.
Robeck’s vocals coupled with her affinity for rhyme-driven lyricism are two selling points likely to announce The Next Chapter to the rest of the world and with these features prominent on One, the EP’s quality, is undoubted.
