A Timeline of All The Flings We’ve Seen In The Big Brother House

Posted on

Get ready for some major throwback feels as we journey back into the unforgettable love stories of  Big Brother housemates.

Another season of whirlwind fights, steamy romance, and messy fan wars is here. Yes, Big Brother Nigeria is back! The All-Stars season promises to be epic entertainment as it brings some of our faves back to the big screens. Sparks will fly, alliances will be formed, and rivalry will ensue, as we dive back into Biggie’s house. Devout fans are already looking forward to how this season will unfold, especially with romance.

Arguably one of the most interesting parts of the show, relationships formed in the Big Brother house are always one to grab attention and evoke  emotions. From heartwarming love stories like BamBam and Teddy A to the ones that have left us shaking our heads  like Tega and Boma, these relationships have always been a major highlight of the show.

If this is your first time watching Big Brother Naija, here’s a recap of all the ships we’ve experienced. And if you want to relive these moments, this is also for you.

I will make you suffer: The Mercy and Ike Story.

As this season opened, fans got some major surprises, including past winners Whitemoney and Mercy Eke making a bold return. While some fans scratched their heads, wondering why they were back after bagging the crown in their respective  seasons, others anticipated the juicy drama between Mercy and Ike.

Mercy and Ike – the steamy romance that blossomed in the Big Brother house, melting hearts left and right, and had fans cheering. The two former Pepper Dem housemates even got their own reality show, offering us a glimpse into their love story. It was a strong sailing ship, but as life sometimes goes, things took a surprising turn when Mercy and Ike decided to part ways. Many fans were shocked, while some others saw it coming, saying they always thought the relationship was played up for attention.

Now back together again at Big Brother house, we wonder if we’ll witness a fiery rekindling of their old flame or if they will choose to explore love with other housemates. At the beginning of this season, Ike declared a mission to take Mercy down, saying he’ll ally with anyone to make sure Mercy doesn’t win again. Now the two are friends and even allied with their fellow Pepper Dem housemates.

Love Triangle on Steroids: Alex and CeeC.

Another rollercoaster romance-turned-enmity that had us glued to our screens was the love triangle between CeeC, Tobi and Alex in season 3’s Double Wahala.

Double Wahala indeed. The season saw fiery CeeC fighting any and every woman that dared get close to Tobi, including dancer Alex. This love triangle however did not begin as one. In the house, CeeC was said to be short-tempered and difficult to work with, causing her to clash with almost everyone in the house, including Alex. Their issues worsened when Tobi, CeeC’s love interest, started getting cosy with Alex. This love triangle had a lot of back and forth, with Tobi’s indecisiveness resulting in the two women making enemies out of each other. In the end, neither the CeeC-Tobi nor the Alex-Tobi ship would make it out of  big brother’s house, but what did last however, was the hostility between the two women. Even though this happened five seasons ago, fans wonder if there would be residual feelings that could  transpire into another rivalry between CeeC and Alex.

Cross and Angel: We live to try again

Who can forget the story of Cross and Angel? While it didn’t have as many  fans  as other BBnaija relationships, it  was something of a show. Free-spirited Angel  was always open to mingling with anyone, spreading her charm like confetti. But with Cross, it was different; she seemed to have had genuine feelings. This, too, didn’t make it past Biggie’s house, and  according to their interview with Toke Makinwa, after the show ended, it seemed like they tried really hard to make things work.

Now, with both making a return to the house this season, we can’t help but wonder if history will repeat itself. Cross is now married and Angel is interested in Soma, so the chances of raising this sunken ship is seeming unlikely. Add in their avoidance of each other in the house, and it’s next to impossible. But, this is Big Brother Naija, anything can happen.

Tolani Baj and Neo: United At Last?

Like Angel, Tolani Baj had her eyes wandering everywhere, and she finally settled with Neo. During her stay in the house, Tolani initially had no notable romantic relationship. At the reunion, however, she spilled the beans that she had her eyes set on Neo, and would’ve explored a relationship with him if he wasn’t with Vee at the time.

As Vee and Neo are no longer together, the door seems open for a potential Neo-T-baj relationship. Currently the two seem to have some “bestie” thing going on. Will this story take a new twist, or are they destined to be just friends?

Doyin and Adekunle: The Hate Story

Not every story in Big Brother’s House is a love story, Doyin and Adekunle are living proof of that. These two housemates didn’t find romance during their time in the house, but they did find something else – a bitter rivalry. Despite their friends dating (Hermez and Allysn), Doyin and Adekunle’s relationship quickly took a sour turn, they became known for their heated arguments.

It all started with Doyin’s anger towards Adekunle, whom she accused of insulting her. During the reunion, she didn’t hold back, calling him names and expressing deep disdain for him. Their hate-filled interactions are bound to make for some dramatic moments this season.

While other housemates may form alliances and friendships, Doyin and Adekunle are locked in a fierce feud. It’s clear that their relationship is anything but friendly, and viewers can expect plenty of drama and fireworks from these two throughout the season.

Venita, Kiddwaya, Pere, Ilebaye, Frodd: Once. Booed, twice shy?

Venita, Kiddwaya, Pere, Ilebaye, and Frodd had their fair share of sparks in the house, but unfortunately, their flames didn’t make it to this season. Kiddwaya and Erica, Venita and Omashola, Pere and Maria, Ilebaye and Bryann, and who could forget Frodd’s crying over Esther in season 4’s Pepper Dem?

While these past flames may not be in the new season, love in the Big Brother house is always unpredictable, we’re sure to see some new and exciting ships unfold.

Whitemoney, Seyi, Uriel, Soma: The friendship zoners.

Love might be in the air in the Big Brother house, but not everyone is inhaling it. . For some housemates, it’s all about the money and winning the game. They’ve come with a clear goal  – bagging that grand prize! Shine Ya Eye winner Whitemoney and Pepper Dem housemate Seyi are among those who have made it clear that they’re not here for romance. Their focus is laser-sharp on the prize, and nothing will distract them from their mission to win it all.

While some may be hoping for sparks to fly and love stories to blossom, these two have their eyes firmly on the prize. Who knows, though? With the kiss between him and Mercy this past week, maybe we’ll see a different side to Whitemoney this season. His humble chef strategy has “casted” so we might be seeing a different gameplay this season.

As for Uriel and Soma, neither had romantic relationships in past seasons nor did they mention any interest in one for All Stars but there seems to have been a change of mind. So far we’re witnessing a Soma-Angel ship sailing with Uriel and Pere not far behind.

It’s still pretty unpredictable to know whether these ships will float or sink. We have to wait and see what they bring.

So keep your eyes peeled and your hearts open because anything can indeed happen in the Big Brother house. With love, drama, and surprises in store for us, this season of Big Brother promises to keep us on the edges of our seats.
