Growing up between Ajegunle and Festac, new Afrobeat artist Abdul, is looking to bring his uniqueness from his different communities as he leads a new dawn of afrobeat paying homage to artists like Daddy Showkey, Daddy Fresh, Tu Baba, Daniel Wilson, Fela, Onyeka Onwenu and Baba Fryo in the process. His debut project, Unfinished Business is live on digital streaming platforms now and serves as a solid introduction to the artist. Throughout the project, he leads the charge on his own with Peruzzi and Davido as the only features on the seven-track project coming in to close the body of work.
Standouts from the project include opener Alori, a single that acknowledges hard times but maintains a commitment to dogging it out and seeing them through, Be Happy and Six30 featuring Peruzzi and Davido. Be Happy maintains the same commitment put forth on Alori but also advises the listener to do everything in their power to enjoy the moment and live life to its fullest. Six30, on the other hand, sees Abdul declare his desire in a love interest with verses from two of Africa’s biggest popstars supplementing his delivery.
