Nollywood director Adeoluwa Owu has concluded principal cinematography for Queen Lateefah, a film that is reportedly set for release in the Nigerian cinemas.
Shooting for the film took place in fifteen days, between May 18 and June 2, 2024, with the set graced by an array of Nollywood stars. The cast list includes Kunle Remi, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Fathia Williams, Madam Saje, Elvina Ibru, Nancy Isime, Broda Shaggi, Kiekie, Gbubemi Ejeye, Aisha Lawal, Jumoke Odetola, Bimbo Manuel, Officer Woos, Nancy Isime, Chizzy Alichi-Mbah and Wumi Toriola who is executive producer.
Queen Lateefah, whose plot details are yet to be revealed, is written by Kehinde Joseph and produced by Judith Audu. Crew members also includes Onyeka Nnama and Okiki Afolayan as associate producers, Ope Ajayi as co-executive producer, and Emmanuel Igbekele as Director of Photography. The film will be released courtesy of Wumi Toriola Productions and Captain of the Sea Productions, owned by Wumi Toriola and Adeoluwa Owu respectively.
Adeoluwa Owu, also known as Captain Degzy, is a renowned Nigerian cinematographer and director. He has worked as a cinematographer on projects such as Jagun Jagun, Shanty Town, Far From Home and One Too Many. He directed Adire, The Griot, and co-directed the highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time, A Tribe Called Judah, with Funke Akindele.
