Ghanaian-American songstress Ama Serwah Genfi, professionally known as Amaarae, has dropped a new single, Co-Star with its video on May 3, 2023.
The female artiste who released her debut project, Passionfruit Summers in 2017 and followed it up with studio album, The Angel You Don’t Know in 2020 has been in the spotlight for sometime. With her sophomore studio album, Fountain Baby expected in June this year, Amaarae has chosen to whet the appetite of fans with her current single which serves as a precursor to the album.
Produced by the quadruplet of Kyu Steed, KZ Didit, Cadenza and Amaarae herself, the lyrically endowed song uses astrological signs and nature’s elements to explore romance. With the artiste’s tone being deliberately subtle and honeyed, she delivers a rhythmically attractive monologue. The official video is directed by Lauren Dunn and is hinged on competition-themed visuals.
