At the inauguration of a bridge today, Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode announced the permanent withdrawal of Vehicle Inspection Officer’s (VIO) from the streets of the state while scaling back the territories where Federal Road Safety Commission agents shall have jurisdiction.
The governor attributed some of the traffic jams Lagos is notorious for to the activities of both organisations and suggested that his administration shall employ technology to track and monitor vehicle registration.
