Aramide’s Emeka (Produced by Bigfoot) is the proverbial ‘drop of water’ given to us to wet our appetites in readiness for the ocean she’ll be letting loose tomorrow. She deployed the upbeat Afrobeat instrumentals used by 2Baba & Peruzzi in the original version and stylized hers with a hybrid of soft sweet keys and acoustic instrumentals punctuated by mellow cymbals, all of which are a huge contrast to dark cloud Emeka’s disappointment has brought on.
Tomorrow, Aramide will be dropping her second official single of the year featuring Timaya. Clearly she has caught on the wave of cultural diversity which is rampant now in the Nigerian music scene. Emeka is available for streaming on Soundcloud.
