Following the exciting snippet he shared with fans on social media last month, Asake aka Mr Money With The Vibe has released his new single 2:30.
2:30, produced by popular Nigerian producers Blaise Beatz and Magicsticks, is a feel-good self-love track that serves as his second solo offering of the year following his first single Yoga, his appearance on Davido’s new album Timeless, and his late-night TV debut with a medley performance of Yoga and Organise on The Tonight Show.
Asake had an impressive run last year thanks to the release of both an EP and his debut album, OloladeAsake and Mr Money With The Viberespectively. Those two projects catapulted the singer into the spotlight and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down ever since.
According to a press release, the new tune finds Asake tapping into his roots to celebrate his authenticity and individuality over a beat that pairs simmering percussion with some synths that sound straight out of a dingy basement.
Asake’s 2:30 also arrives alongside a shiny music video, which was directed by Edgar Esteves and Joshua Valle. The video was shot in Los Angeles and produced by Blank Square Productions.
