As2019 as it appears has set itself up as a year of record breaking feats for Nigerians in every industry especially sports. Following the trail of Divine Oduduru becoming the fastest man so far in 2019, professional footballer Asisat Oshoala has broken the long jinx by becoming the first Nigerian Woman to qualify for The Women’s Champions League final with her team FC Barcelona Femeni.
The 24 year-old history maker helped her team land the 1-0 defeat of the opposing team, Bayern Munich, placing the team as the first ever Spanish team to make it that far in the history of the tournament.
Asisat Oshoala and her FC Barcelona Femeni team mates will meet French giants Lyon in the final on May 18 at Budapest’s Ferencváros Stadium and we will be sure to root for her the entire way.
