Individually, Mayorkun, BOJ and Reekado Banks have been making solid moves that have definitely elevated them in the last couple of months. While Mayorkun’s debut album, The Mayor Of Lagos was a huge success, BOJ has been championing the Alte Community and Reekado Banks left Mavin Records to set up his own record label. Attitude enlisting them for his own fair share of the Zanku movement in Higher Your Body which taps into Zlatan’s Zanku and Gbe Body E movement, one that has been ruling the dance community in recent times, comes as no surprise.
For each of them, the Gbe Body movement is parallel to their brands but being versatile, they execute their verses with finesse and with as much emotion they can pour into the mid-tempo record that languidly encourages the listener to move to the syncopated rhythm. The song incorporates elements from Wasiu Ayinde Marshall’s Consolidation and Wande Coal’s So Mi So.
