Long weekend away with my boyfriend.

I don’t know about you, but my relationship has a defined personality. My boyfriend and I tend to show appreciation and express love for one another everyday but tend to be more romantic on Valentine’s day. Over the years, we have both become disenchanted with fancy dinners, roses, movies and chocolates, which is usually the stereotypical way to spend Valentine’s Day.

We tend to intertwine romance with adventure on Valentine’s Day. One of the best moments we had together on Valentine’s Day, was our trip to South Africa, where we spent a long weekend at the Kruger National Park. It was a romantic, adventure filled experience. From the bush walks we took together that weekend, to flying above in a hot air balloon, we totally enjoyed the time we spent together.

We stayed at the Kapama River Lodge, which was absolutely beautiful and serene at the same time. Our view was unforgettable and our interaction with nature was just amazing. Every time it rained was a welcome additio to the Valentine atmosphere of warmth and love. Interacting with elephants had always been on my wish list before this trip and I got it all on a platter with my better half, over the long valentine weekend we had.

I enjoy being pampered on Valentine’s Day and so does my boyfriend. We usually plan something special each year to mark the date and make it memorable. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune or be elaborate, but as long as we both feel special, then the mission is accomplished. We just enjoy going on adventures that leave us both in loving moods.

Remember, anticipation is half the fun of a romantic surprise!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE!
