Having found a home in a niche powered by a fusion of Hip-hop, Afrobeat, Jazz and Funk among others, Ottawa based Nigerian artist, Banggz, is slowly but surely coming into his own, highlighted by the fact that the core of his creativity is his encompassing ability, including singing, songwriting, performing and producing. In the past few months, his life has been soundtracked by songs like 21 and Open Up, both of which draw on his love for Hip hop and touch on his life experiences. He circles back this month, with the video for the previously released Open Up, in a bid to reinforce his presence and paint a vivid picture of the engaging narrative that makes up the single.

With the vivid storytelling and descriptive video scenes, the video is Banggz’s attempt to portray how toxicity affects relationships. With production and direction split between himself and Tani Olorunyomi of Twelve07, Banggz’s production company, owning the creative direction is entirely in his hands and he does a great job of showing off this prowess.
